Abstract
This study evaluates and compares the social problems of different provinces and examines effect of macroeconomic variables on level of social problems in 2006 to 2019. Due to the multidimensionality of social dilemmas, artificial composite social problems index had been used to measure social dilemmas of provinces to compare. main dimensions or components of artificial composite index of social problems include murder, conflict, addictions, theft, accidents and divorce.synthesis of artificial composite index of social problems was carried out using P2-Distance approach and using R software In 2019.three provinces of South Khorasan, Ilam and North Khorasan are at bottom of ranking of social problems, as well as position of three provinces of Tehran, West Azerbaijan and Khorasan-Razavi are at top of ranking. results of comparing changes in social problems index of provinces during study period show that social problems of Markazi Province recorded largest increase, while social problems of Semnan Province recorded largest decrease. The two-factor analysis of variance of estimated artificial social problem index shows that both provincial fixed effects and calendar effects factors are significant at level of social problem index. The results of studying effect of macroeconomic variables on index of social problem by estimating panel data regression model show that effects of variables such as provincial per capita value-added, interest rates, unemployment rates, population rates, Gini coefficient and coin prices on level of social problems is not significant. But variables such as exchange rates and provincial consumer prices index are significant on the level of social problems.
